Here's what we ask of every person in our community.
Be Real. Always.
- We don't expect perfection. But we do expect honesty.
- Your profile is how someone begins to imagine what it might feel like to know you, so let it reflect the real you. Use current photos. Write your own bio. Show up as yourself, not a curated performance.
- Misleading details, whether it's age, photos from another life, or AI-generated faces, erode trust before it even begins. And trust is the heart of Saha.
If You're Here for Someone You Love
Saha is the first app built with families in mind — not just individuals. If you've created a profile for a son, daughter, or relative, or if a family member has shared their journey with you through the family invite system, these guidelines are for you too.
Being part of someone's search for a life partner is a privilege. Here's how to do it well.
- Consent first, always. A profile may only be created for someone with their full knowledge and agreement. The person whose profile it is must know it exists, approve the information shown, and be involved in any conversations that develop.
- Your role is to support, not decide. Family members are here to assist and share the journey — not to make choices on behalf of the person looking for a match. Every decision about whether to connect, meet, or pursue someone belongs to them alone.
- What you see stays here. Any information you come across about other users — their photos, Kundli details, location, or profession — is private and confidential. Please treat other families' information with the same care you'd want yours treated.
- All our guidelines apply to family accounts too. The same standards of respect, honesty, and safety that govern individual users apply equally to family member accounts. There are no exceptions.
Profiles marked "Created for My Daughter," "Created for My Son," or "Created for My Relative" are clearly labeled for other users to see. This transparency is intentional — it allows matches to engage with the right understanding. Please keep all such profiles accurate and current.
Treat People Like People
- Every match is a human being. Not a dopamine hit. Not a blank screen. Not a placeholder.
- Speak to people with the same respect you'd hope to receive, even if you're not feeling the spark. That means no objectifying language, no talking at people, and no comments that are demeaning, discriminatory, or overly sexual without mutual tone and consent.
- Behind every profile is someone navigating their own emotional world. Move with care.
Move With Consent - Not Assumptions
- Connection unfolds best when both people feel safe. That includes digital spaces.
- Don't assume intimacy just because someone matched with you, replied quickly, or shared something vulnerable. Consent isn't just for physical interactions, it applies to conversations too.
- If someone seems unsure, pauses the chat, or doesn't reciprocate your energy, respect that boundary. Pushing past it breaks the space of trust we're all here to build.
No Ghosting. No Games.
- Ghosting is the silent pandemic of modern dating. It leaves people confused, hurt, and doubting themselves.
- We get it, sometimes you're no longer feeling it. That's okay. But the respectful thing is to close the loop. Say you're stepping away. Wish them well. Be human about it.
- You don't have to commit to something you're unsure about, but you do owe someone basic closure if you've engaged meaningfully.
Show Up Honestly in Photos Too
- Visuals matter, not because looks are everything, but because clarity is kindness.
- Include a clear, recent photo of your face. Avoid group shots where you're hard to identify, misleading filters, or images that present a version of you that no longer reflects how you move through the world.
- And please skip anything violent, offensive, overly sexual, or unrelated to you (like celebrity edits or meme spam). You're more than that. Let people see you.
Verification Makes Trust Real
We know that coming to a matrimony platform takes courage. You're opening yourself — and sometimes your family — to strangers on the internet, in the hope of finding something genuinely meaningful. That takes trust. We don't take that lightly.
For users in Matrimony mode, we require identity verification through a secure government ID check and a real-time liveness confirmation. This is the same verification standard used by major financial and housing platforms. When someone on Saha has a verified badge, you know the person behind that profile is who they say they are.
- Verification is required for all users in Matrimony mode.
- Your government ID is processed securely by our verification partner — Saha does not store your raw ID documents.
- Verified profiles display a badge visible to all users and their family members.
- Attempting to pass verification using someone else's identity is a permanent ban violation.
If you're a family member reviewing profiles on behalf of a loved one, look for the verified badge. It's our promise that someone on the other side has proven who they are.
This Is Not a Place for Scams or Manipulation
- Saha is a space for emotional connection, not financial transaction.
- Never ask for money, gifts, donations, or favors. Don't use love-bombing or long-distance sob stories to extract sympathy (or worse, bank info). And don't pitch crypto, wellness schemes, or side hustles in chat.
No Hate. No Harm. Ever.
- We are proudly inclusive and deeply protective of that.
- Any form of hate based on caste, religion, gender, orientation, size, ability, or ethnicity has no place on Saha. That includes jokes masked as "just banter," coded language, or content meant to provoke or other.
- This is a space where people of all kinds can show up without fear. We protect that fiercely.
Some Lines Are Absolute
Most of the time, if something goes wrong, we believe in warnings, conversation, and giving people the chance to do better. That's how we've structured our moderation — with care, not punishment as a first resort.
But there are some things we will not treat as a first-offence situation. The following result in an immediate permanent ban, with no warnings, no escalation, and no exceptions.
- Any sexual content involving minors. This is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement. No exceptions, ever.
- Threats of violence toward any user, family member, or third party.
- Sharing or threatening to share intimate images of another person without their consent.
- Impersonating a real person — celebrity, public figure, or private individual — with intent to deceive.
- Operating as part of a romance scam or financial fraud network.
- Returning to Saha after a permanent ban using a different phone number, device, or identity.
- Recruiting users for exploitation, trafficking, or sex work of any kind.
- Targeted hate speech using slurs or dehumanizing language based on religion, caste, gender, orientation, or ethnicity.
Saha is legally obligated to report certain violations to law enforcement — including any content that sexually exploits minors. We comply fully with all applicable US law and will cooperate with any lawful investigation.
Support Each Other's Mental Space
- Emotional wellbeing is sacred here. Sometimes harm isn't loud, it's subtle.
- Leading people on to fill a void, breadcrumbing to boost your ego, or love-bombing only to disappear, these all leave emotional residue. If you're not in the headspace to connect genuinely, take a break. We'll still be here.
- Being mindful of your own state and being honest about what you can offer is care, not coldness.
What You Do Off Saha Still Matters
- We don't turn away from harm just because it happened elsewhere.
- If we receive credible reports of abuse, harassment, or unsafe behavior that occurred off-platform but impacts a user's experience or safety here, we may take action including account review or removal.
- Because this community is built on emotional trust. And that doesn't stop at the app's edge.
How We Handle Violations
When something is reported on Saha, a real human being on our Trust & Safety team reviews it. Not an algorithm alone. Not a bot. A person who reads the report, looks at the account history, and makes a considered decision.
Here's exactly what that process looks like.
- 1st – 2nd report: A courtesy warning email is sent. We let you know a report was received and give you the opportunity to review your behaviour. (Account: Fully active)
- 2nd report of same type: A final warning is issued. An admin personally reviews your account history before this email is sent. (Account: Fully active)
- 3rd report: Your account is suspended for 7 days. You'll receive an email with the reason and a window to appeal. (Account: Suspended 7 days)
- 4th – 5th report: Your account is suspended for 14 days. A senior team member reviews before any action is taken. (Account: Suspended 14 days)
- 6th report or severe violation: Your account is permanently banned, pending senior admin approval. Your phone number and device are flagged. (Account: Permanently banned)
- Zero-tolerance violation: Immediate permanent ban. Some violations are referred to law enforcement. (Account: Immediately banned)
You'll always be notified when action is taken on your account, and you'll always know the reason. We believe in transparency — even when the news isn't good.
A note on false reports. Filing a report you know to be untrue in order to harm another user's account is itself a violation of these guidelines. If we identify a pattern of bad-faith reporting, the reporting account will be reviewed and may be suspended.
If something feels wrong, report it. You won't be ignored.
If You Think We Got It Wrong
We make every effort to get decisions right. But we're human, and mistakes happen. If you believe an action taken against your account was made in error, you have every right to appeal — and we take those appeals seriously.
- How to appeal: Email support@sahaapp.com with the subject line "Account Appeal" and your registered phone number. Tell us specifically what happened and why you believe the decision was made in error.
- Response time: Warnings and suspension appeals are reviewed within 48 hours. Permanent ban appeals are reviewed within 5 business days by a senior member of our team. You will receive a written response either way.
- What makes a strong appeal: Be specific. Give us context. Tell us your side of the story. Appeals that provide genuine detail are far easier to act on than those that simply say "I didn't do anything wrong."
- Outcomes: If your appeal succeeds, your account is fully restored with no record of wrongdoing. If it doesn't, the original decision stands. The same decision cannot be appealed twice.
We don't want to lose good people from Saha. If something went wrong, we genuinely want to hear about it.
